Job summary

Star Discount Chemist Firle is hiring a Pharmacy Assistant on a casual basis over the Christmas and New Year period. Join a team that values customer care, with benefits, training avenues, and staff discounts. You’ll help customers, handle prescriptions, and manage POS and stock in a busy Firle store.

We welcome applicants with a friendly personality, strong communication skills, and a can-do attitude. Full availability over holidays and a valid Australia work-rights status are needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in pharmacy or retail is preferred but not essential.

The RoleAs a Pharmacy Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of our team, helping us deliver exceptional customer care. In this role, you’ll:

Provide outstanding customer service and expert advice on health and beauty products.

Assist customers with prescription submissions to our pharmacists.

Invoicing and stocktaking

Operate the point of sale and manage cash handling.

Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming.

Promote current sales and product offerings to customers.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

A friendly and engaging personality with a passion for customer service.

Previous experience in pharmacy or retail (preferred but not essential).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A professional presentation and a customer-first attitude.

The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Full availability over the Christmas/New Year period (weekdays and weekends shifts)

Driver's license and own transport

Bonus Points If You Have:

A Certificate in Community Pharmacy (I-IV).

Experience with MINFOS or FRED dispensing systems.
