Job summary

Direct Chemist Outlet Point Cook is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Point Cook, VIC 3030. You will support pharmacy operations, assist pharmacists, and provide excellent customer service in a busy community setting.

Qualifications

• Qualify or certify to supply Pharmacy Medicines and Pharmacist Only Medicines (S2/S3) or be willing to obtain certification.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software; ability to learn new technology.
• Understanding of health and safety in a pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Direct Chemist Outlet Point Cook. This is a full-time position based in Point Cook VIC 3030. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our customers and working collaboratively with our pharmacists and healthcare team. Your contribution will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and operational excellence within our pharmacy.

What you'll be doing

• Receiving and stocking pharmacy inventory, including medicines and health products, whilst maintaining proper organisation and stock control
• Operating pharmacy POS systems such as POSworks to maintain customer records and process sales transactions
• Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service, offering advice on over-the-counter medications and general health products where appropriate
• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe pharmacy environment in accordance with health and safety standards
• Supporting the pharmacist with administrative tasks including data entry, filing and documentation
• Handling cash and processing payments accurately
• Assisting with pharmacy displays and promotional activities

What we're looking for

• A relevant qualification or certification to support the supply of Pharmacy Medicines and Pharmacist Only Medicines (S2/S3), or willingness to undertake recognised training and to obtain certification
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy in all tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for customer service
• Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology
• A solid understanding of health and safety requirements, particularly in a pharmacy environment
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Professional demeanour and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required
• Previous retail or healthcare experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate
