Job summary

Cabrini Health is seeking an experienced Pharmacist Team Lead for our Compounding Services at the Cabrini Malvern site. Lead the compounding workforce to ensure safe, compliant sterile and non-sterile preparations, while collaborating with nursing and medical teams to optimise patient outcomes.

The role focuses on leadership, quality systems, and service innovation in a hospital setting, with opportunities to contribute to policy development and service expansion.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Significant experience in sterile and/or non-sterile compounding within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements, and risk management principles.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily operations of the hospital’s compounding service.
• Provide clinical, operational, and professional leadership to pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.
• Oversee quality assurance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Support workforce development through staff training, mentoring, and performance management.
• Drive service innovation and optimisation to improve efficiency, safety, and patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders to meet the specialised medication needs of patients.
• Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and service expansion initiatives.
