Job summary

Aussie Locums in Far North Queensland is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy as a sole pharmacist with support from a dispensary technician. You will oversee dispensing, patient care, and day-to-day operations while upholding professional standards.

The role is 40 hours per week, including one weekend day, with a typical four-day week. This position offers strong patient care, vaccination services, cannabis dispensing, Webster packs, and staff leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent required.
• Current AHPRA registration.
• Personal indemnity insurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pharmacy and dispensary team to ensure efficient workflow and minimal customer wait times.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in line with our Making a Difference principles.
• Promote in-store health initiatives and provide vaccinations and OTC recommendations.
• Manage dispensary operations: prescriptions, stock control, claiming, filing and accuracy checks.
• Supervise and coach staff to maintain high standards of service and teamwork.
• Dispense cannabis products and manage ordering processes.
• Administer and promote vaccination services.
• Prepare Webster packs (≈20 per week).
• Ensure compliance with regulations, OHS policies and procedures.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacist in Charge to lead our pharmacy and provide an exceptional customer experience. This is a sole pharmacist role with support from a dispensary technician two days per week. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the pharmacy and dispensary team to ensure efficient workflow and minimal customer wait times

• Manage dispensary operations: prescriptions, stock control, claiming, filing, and accuracy checks

• Administer and promote vaccination services
• Prepare Webster packs (approximately 20 per week)

Requirements

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent)
• Current AHPRA registration

• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

• Experience with dispensary software (Fred NXT + POS; soon transitioning to LS Retail POS)
