Job summary

Botanica Wellness Pharmacy seeks an experienced Pharmacist at our Brighton-Le-Sands location. The role offers either full-time or part-time hours, focusing on high-quality pharmaceutical care and patient counselling for cannabis medications.

You will ensure medication safety, provide expert clinical advice, and maintain professional standards while collaborating with doctors and nurses in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent recognised in Australia.
• Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia is required.
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduation experience in a retail/community pharmacy setting.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, therapeutic uses and drug interactions.
• Willingness to learn Minfos dispensing software if not proficient.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and verify medications in accordance with prescriptions and regulations.
• Provide professional pharmaceutical advice and counselling to patients about cannabis medication use and interactions.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise treatment outcomes.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at our Brighton-Le-Sands location on a full-time or part-time basis. As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care and advice to our diverse patient population. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient health and wellbeing whilst working within a supportive and collaborative pharmacy environment. You will be responsible for ensuring medication safety, providing expert clinical advice and maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

Key responsibilities

• Dispensing and verifying S8 medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legislative requirements
• Providing professional pharmaceutical advice and counselling to patients regarding cannabis medication use, potential side effects and interactions
• Following TGA dispensing regulations if medicinal cannabis products
• Maintaining accurate and detailed patient medication records
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimise patient treatment outcomes
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant pharmacy legislation, regulations and professional standards
• Managing pharmacy stock, including ordering, receiving and rotation of medications
• Supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff members, including pharmacy technicians and assistants
• Participating in wellness initiatives and providing preventative healthcare advice to patients
• Contributing to a positive, patient-focused pharmacy culture and supporting continuous service improvement

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent professional qualification recognised in Australia
• Current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia
• Minimum of 2 years' post-graduation experience in a retail or community pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, therapeutic uses and drug interactions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse patient populations
• Willingness to learn Minfos dispensing software if not proficient
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to work independently whilst maintaining high professional standards
• A commitment to patient safety and continuous professional development
• Ability to multitask and manage a busy pharmacy environment with composure and efficiency
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Experience with vaccination services or health screening programmes is desirable
• A genuine passion for patient wellbeing and wellness-focused pharmacy practice is highly valued
