Job description

HenderCare is currently seeking a highly experienced Personal Care Worker with NDIS participants to attend several homecare services throughout Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs: Mooroolbark, Croydon, etc.

About the role:

As a casual Personal Care Worker, you will aim to maximise the service recipients' independence by addressing their needs and building positive home environments and relationships with families and the community. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex care, excel in handling multiple short shifts, able to drive and attend multiple clients, ensuring consistent opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the lives we support.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Domestic Assistance (e.g. cleaning, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, making the bed, etc.)
- Personal Care (e.g. bathing, showering, toileting, dressing, medication management, manual handling bed transfers, etc.)
- Community Access (e.g. supporting service recipients in accessing appointments or recreational activities)

Our Ideal Candidate:

- Can work casually (able to work short 1-3 hour shifts 3-4 times per week)
- Previous experience with NDIS participants providing personal care, community access, and domestic assistance
- Must be comfortable driving suburbs and locations in description above
- Have the ability to maintain calm composure in high-pressure situations
- Have strong communication and documentation skills (progress notes, incident reporting, etc.)
