Job summary

Harwell Home Care Pty invites applications for a casual Personal Care Worker (PCW) to cover night shifts. You will support veterans receiving home care with dignity, safety and wellbeing, including complex needs like delirium and dementia. Travel between client locations is required and ASAP start is valued.

The role offers flexible shifts with above‑award fuel allowance, night/weekend/public holiday pay, and ongoing development opportunities in a values‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability)
• Must be available for night shifts
• National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
• Must have work rights in Australia
• Must have a valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel between client locations

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Assist with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques/equipment
• Support meals, feeding and hydration
• Help with dressing and personal appearance
• Offer companionship and emotional support for wellbeing
• Perform light housekeeping (beds, laundry, cleaning)
• Observe/report changes in health or behavior
• Engage clients in social/recreational activities
• Collaborate with nurses and allied health professionals

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assisting with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques and equipment Supporting clients with meals, feeding, and hydration
• Helping clients with dressing and maintaining their personal appearance
• Offering companionship and emotional support to promote client wellbeing
• Performing light housekeeping tasks including making beds, doing laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Observing and reporting any changes in clients’ health or behavior
• Engaging clients in meaningful social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
• Collaborating with nurses and allied health professionals to ensure quality care

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with home care clients
• Must have an experience in caring for clients with delirium, dementia, and challenging behaviours
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care or Disability) or equivalent
• Must be available for night shifts
• Ability to start ASAP is preferred
• A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• Must be willing to travel between client locations
• A current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Must have work rights in Australia
