Job summary

BaptistCare in Home offers meaningful in-home support to older people, helping them stay independent. You will assist with daily tasks, provide transport assistance, and offer companionship across Wonthaggi and nearby areas.

Qualifications

• Must have an unrestricted Australian Driver Licence with Third-Party Property Damage Insurance.
• Certificate III in aged care or equivalent is required.
• Level II First Aid certificate is preferred or required.
• Ability to use smartphone apps and email effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support older people in their own homes across Wonthaggi and surrounds.
• Assist with household tasks, showering, dressing, meal prep and transport to appointments.
• Provide companionship and a friendly presence to clients.
• Build trusted relationships to help clients live safely and independently.

About the role

As a Personal Care Support Worker with BaptistCare, you’ll support older people in their own homes across Wonthaggi and the surrounding areas.

Every day is different. You might help with household tasks, showering and dressing, meal preparation, continence support, medication assistance or transport to appointments and local activities.

Just as importantly, you’ll provide companionship, conversation, and a friendly face.

In a rural community, those connections matter. You’ll get to know your clients, understand what is important to them and support them to continue living safely and independently in the place they call home.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring:

• Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence with minimum Third-Party Property Damage Insurance to transport clients
• Completed Certificate III in aged care or Individual support or above.
• Current valid Level II First Aid Certificate
• You will be a proficient user of smartphone technology, apps and email
• A warm, respectful, and caring approach
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to work independently
• Good communication skills and a willingness to build genuine relationships with client
