Job summary

Calvary St Pauls Retirement Community in Cundletown, NSW, is looking for a Personal Care Worker to join our casual team. You will support residents with daily living, promote independence and dignity, and work within an established care framework.

As part of our integrated team, you will implement care plans under supervision, engage with residents including those living with dementia, and help provide high quality, respectful care across our community. Flexible hours are available.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in individual support or equivalent qualification.
• Ability to engage with residents and dementia care experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads.
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person.
• Demonstrated respect for residents' privacy and dignity.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Working knowledge of WH&S and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, promoting independence.
• Contribute to physical, emotional and lifestyle needs through assessment and observation.
• Implement care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the care plan.
• Assist residents with personal care and hygiene while encouraging independence.

About The Role

The position of Personal Care Worker is part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework attending to the personal needs of residents. The Personal Care Worker role is instrumental to ensuring that we are providing high quality care to our residents at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the resident’s plan of care.
• Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence

About You

• Certificate III in individual support, or equivalent recognised qualification
