Mercy Health Place Mandurah is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to deliver compassionate, person-centred care for residents. You will assist with daily living tasks, mobility, feeding, and medication reminders under nurse supervision, while maintaining a clean, safe environment and supporting engagement through activities.

To thrive in this role you will hold a minimum Certificate III or Cert IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.

Formación

• Minimum Certificate III or Cert IV in Aged Care or Individual Support.
• Experience delivering person-centred care is preferred.
• Ability to work with elderly residents with dignity and empathy.

Responsabilidades

• Assist residents with daily personal care tasks.
• Support mobility and transfers safely.
• Assist with feeding and hydration, including special dietary needs.
• Provide medication reminders under nurse guidance.
• Keep living areas clean and safe with light housekeeping.
• Organise and participate in activities to promote well-being.
• Respond to requests promptly and professionally.
• Follow care plans established by nurses and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy and preferences.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE usage.

About the opportunity:

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Personal Care Assistant, you'll make a genuine difference when it's needed the most by:

• Assist residents with daily personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including transferring residents from bed to chair, assisting with walking, and using mobility aids safely.
• Support residents with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration, and assisting with special dietary needs.
• Assist with medication reminders and support residents in taking prescribed medications, under the guidance of a nurse.
• Help maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks, including making beds and cleaning rooms.
• Assist with organizing and engaging in activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
• Respond to residents' requests for assistance in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow care plans as outlined by registered nurses and healthcare professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' privacy, dignity, and personal preferences.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including infection control procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
