Job summary

APR Engineering in Australia is seeking an experienced Machinist / Fitter to join our Oxley workshop. This full‑time role covers machining, fitting and repair work across mining, transport, defence, manufacturing and energy sectors. Set up and operate conventional and CNC tools, read drawings, measure to tolerance and assemble components.

Work with the workshop team to deliver high‑quality work on time. Hours are Monday to Thursday 6:00 am–3:30 pm, with Friday an early finish.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent in fitting/machining.
• Experience with CNC and conventional machining.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment and quality inspection.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools.
• Perform precision machining, fitting, assembly and repair work.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Measure and inspect components to ensure tolerances and quality.
• Assemble, fit and repair mechanical components and equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
• Work with the workshop team to deliver jobs on time to a high standard.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment per WHS requirements.
