Job summary

Banksia Broulee is seeking a friendly Café Attendant to join our in-house café at Banksia Lodge Broulee. You’ll deliver warm, quality service to residents, families and visitors, helping to run a contemporary community café aligned with aged care standards.

You’ll work independently and with the Café Supervisor, serving food and beverages, handling POS and cash EFT, keeping areas clean, and supporting inventory. This role offers guaranteed hours and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a busy café.
• Familiarity with POS and EFT systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Genuine respect and empathy for older people.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages safely and professionally.
• Prepare light meals and hot/cold drinks.
• Operate POS and handle cash/EFT transactions.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of café areas.
• Restock and rotate inventory.
• Monitor and report equipment or supply issues.
• Assist with light cleaning and dishwashing.
