Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Theatre Support Assistant to help the theatre team with daily planning, setup and patient care. You will assist in preparing equipment, maintaining sterility and supporting peri-operative staff during procedures.

You will also help with stock control, counting swabs and instruments, checking patients in and handing over to recovery, and ensuring the environment complies with Trust policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in assisting in theatre environments is desirable.
• Familiarity with sterile techniques and handling of equipment.
• Ability to follow procedures and communicate clearly in a theatre team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the set up of theatre each morning and ensure sterility.
• Circulate for surgical procedures and maintain equipment availability.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and maintenance of specialist items.
• Check in patients from ward to Anaesthetic Room and handover to recovery.
