Job summary

Tasmania Government seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Main Theatres at the Royal Hobart Hospital as Instrument/Circulating Theatre Nurse. The perioperative team delivers complex elective and emergency care across multiple specialties.

The role requires NMBA registration, prior perioperative experience is desirable, and the position is full-time with a rotational schedule. Salary ranges from $80,524 to $109,175 per year plus superannuation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Nursing registration with NMBA is required.
• Desirable: previous experience in surgical instrument/circulating nursing roles.
• Commitment to evidence-based perioperative care and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen health outcomes through safe, quality nursing care with patients and families.
• Act as a scrubbed member preparing, handling, and recording instruments per theatre protocols.
• Participate as circulating member maintaining sterile field and assisting the instrument nurse.
• Practice in line with NMBA and ACORN standards and applicable AS/NZS 4187.
• Contribute to a learning environment through continuing education and professional development.
