Job summary

St John of God Geelong Hospital is seeking an experienced Anaesthetic/PACU Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team on a casual basis. You will assist anaesthetists, provide skilled perioperative care and support patients through the surgical journey.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Recent clinical experience in anaesthetics and/or PACU.
• Sound knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and recovery.
• Ability to recognise changes in patient condition and elevate concerns.

Responsibilities

• Assist anaesthetists with patient prep, equipment and checks.
• Provide skilled perioperative nursing from pre-op to PACU.
• Monitor vitals and respond to changes during anaesthesia.
• Deliver post-anaesthetic care and manage pain and nausea.
• Document accurately in anaesthetic and PACU records.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff.
• Uphold infection prevention and clinical guidelines.
• Communicate with patients and families with support.
