Nexus Hospitals Group invites applications for a Clinical Nurse – Perioperative Scrub/Scout Educator in our Westside Private Hospital network. This 12‑month, full‑time leave-relief role supports safe, high‑quality perioperative care across our short-stay facility.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and clinical excellence, mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement in a busy surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience as a perioperative scrub/scout in a surgical hospital setting.
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Post graduate qualifications relevant to the role, or a commitment to working towards them.

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based care: monitor patient wellbeing and administer safe, high-quality treatment tailored to each stage of their hospital stay.
• Prepare for safe surgery: ensure the facility, equipment and environment are ready to support safe, efficient surgical care; coordinate procurement activities.
• Prioritise and monitor patient safety: maintain clear team communication, assess progress and respond to changes or complications.
• Mentor and educate colleagues: share clinical knowledge to build confidence and teamwork.
• Drive quality and safety improvement: support leadership with continuous improvement and safe practice.
