Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join the Operating Theatres team at Maitland Hospital, with opportunities across Anaesthetics and Scrub/Scout.

This permanent full-time role offers NSW Health benefits, 7-day service with 24-hour emergency theatre access, and a commitment to ongoing education and professional development. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Qualifications

• Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated experience in either Anaesthetic nursing or Scrub/Scout.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to practise within scope.
• For Scrub/Scout, Orthopaedics experience is highly relevant.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to priorities.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing education and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, person-centred perioperative care within your scope of practice.
• Work collaboratively with Registered Nurses, medical staff and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain high standards of infection prevention, safety and clinical practice.
• Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow policies and procedures.
• Participate in education, competency development and continuous improvement activities.
