Job summary

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a perfusionist to support heart surgeries and ECMO, providing expertise with modern perfusion equipment. The team performs CABG, valve, and transplant cases, with on-call responsibilities and a 40-hour week in a busy cardiovascular program.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Cardiovascular Technology, Wisconsin perfusion licensure or CCP certification, and strong organizational and communicative skills to operate in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent.
• Typically requires 3 years of perfusion experience.
• Licenses & Certifications as described (state perfusion license; CCP).

Responsibilities

• Operate perfusion equipment during heart surgeries (CABGs, valves, transplants).
• Maintain patient monitoring and sterile technique during procedures.
• Rotate shifts and on-call as part of the Cardiovascular Surgery team.

Monday - Friday with rotating call/start time. Night, weekend and holiday call rotation. Aurora St. Luke’s/Grafton Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery group.

Pay Range:

$68.20 - $102.30

We are a team of 16 perfusionists that provide services to 7 surgeons and we are looking to expand our team! The majority of our cases are performed at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI. Our Team also supports procedures at our sister hospital Aurora Grafton Medical Center.

Our procedures include CABGs, Valves, Heart Transplants, TAVRs, HIPEC, Angiovac, and ECMO. Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is one of the clinical sites for the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Masters in Perfusion Program.

Our Team of Perfusionists Utilize:

• Terumo System 1 with the FX Oxygenator
• Quest Myocardial Protection System with micro-cardioplegia and Del Nido cardioplegia
• Medtronic Autolog cell savers
• TEG 6s
• 35 ECMO cases per year on average

Scheduled Hours

Full-time Perfusionist opportunity withour growing Aurora St. Luke’s/Grafton Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery group.

Licenses & Certifications

Perfusionist license issued by the state of Wisconsin, and

Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification issued by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).

If new grad, may work under temp license until able to complete certification

Degree:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Cardiovascular Technology.

Required Functional Experience

Typically requires 3 years of experience in pumping perfusion cases.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
