Job summary

VicRoads is seeking a Performance Test Engineer to join the Quality Assurance function and support the delivery of reliable, scalable digital systems in Melbourne, Victoria. You will plan, design, execute and analyse performance tests for applications, APIs, services and infrastructure.

Working with QA, DevOps, architecture and delivery teams, you will identify risks, analyze bottlenecks and provide actionable tuning recommendations to improve system performance in production-like environments.

Qualifications

4–6 years in software testing or quality engineering.
3+ years hands-on performance testing experience.
Experience designing, scripting, executing and analysing performance tests.
Ability to produce clear performance reports, insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities

Design, script, execute and analyse performance tests including load, stress, soak and scalability.
Define performance objectives, workload models and success criteria.
Build realistic workload models and production‑like test data.
Monitor and analyse application, API, database, integration, cloud and infrastructure metrics.
Identify bottlenecks and provide tuning recommendations.
Prepare performance reports and release readiness evidence.
Support end‑to‑end performance testing in Agile squads and CI/CD pipelines.
Engage stakeholders and drive outcomes with minimal supervision.
