Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd seeks a People Services Advisor to join our People & Culture team in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane. You’ll provide HR generalist support across the employee lifecycle and build strong stakeholder relationships while maintaining data integrity.

You will learn policies, support remuneration reviews, and help with relocations, housing and onboarding for a broad workforce. A customer‑focused, compliant approach is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support and service advisory to employees and leaders across People & Culture areas.
• Learn HR policies and procedures including Parental Leave and Flexible Work Agreements.
• Support remuneration review processes and salary progression.
• Assist with employee movements, transfers and promotions (domestic and international).
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment and onboarding of Apprentices in QLD and NT.
• Support HRIS usage (Workday) and data integrity.
• Assist monthly HR reporting and contribute to HR projects and policy development.

We are seeking a People Services Advisor to join our People & Culture team based in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane.

As a key member of the team, you will provide HR generalist support to leaders and employees on a range of areas across the employee lifecycle.

Reporting to the People Services Lead, you will develop your skills and experience across a broad range of human resource activities, including HR policies and procedures, employee data management, talent acquisition, onboarding, HRIS systems, employee housing, corporate travel, employee transfers and relocations.

This role offers the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships across People & Culture and the wider business while contributing to the needs of employees and the business.

What you’ll be doing:

Provide HR support and service advisory to employees and leaders on a range of People and Culture areas. Gain a working knowledge of HR policies and procedures including Parental Leave, Flexible Work Agreements, Corporate Travel, Employee Relocations and Employee Housing. Support the annual remuneration review processes, including salary and enterprise agreement wages progressions. Support employee movements, transfers and promotions both domestic and international, providing Employees support cross Hastings Deering & SIME entities. Partner with Talent Acquisition and Capability to support the recruitment, selection, onboarding and lifecycle of Apprentices across Queensland and NT. Support leaders to build their capabilities in the use and execution of functionality of the HRIS system (Workday). Maintain the highest standards of data integrity as it relates to data changes, corrections and adjustments. Support monthly periodic and ad hoc reporting of a diverse set of human resource data. Contribute to HR projects, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll need:

• Experience in a relevant Human Resources discipline, or a customer-focused support environment.
• A strong commitment to delivering exceptional service and providing practical, people-focused solutions across a diverse business.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, analyse information, and determine the best course of action.
• Strong analytical capability and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy when interpreting policies, procedures, employee data, and employment-related matters.
• Experience managing end-to-end HR processes and transactions while maintaining a high level of quality, compliance, and efficiency.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands, manage multiple enquiries, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using HR systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to analyse data and identify trends or opportunities for improvement.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for streamlining processes, improving the employee experience, and enhancing service delivery.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation.
• A high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information.
