We are looking for an experienced People Project Manager to join our APAC People team. Based in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of people-focused projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality.
You’ll lead a small, matrixed distributed project team across multiple locations, being responsible for identifying, managing, and resolving risks and issues throughout the entire project lifecycle. A key focus of this role will be driving organisational transformation and change, including managing our global office footprint strategy and expansion into emerging markets.
Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy, implementing initiatives that foster a more inclusive workplace. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, particularly with senior stakeholders. You will be the face of HR in meetings with executives and C-suite leaders, providing expert advice and influencing decision-making at a strategic level.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy and execution of FNZ’s global footprint and office location plans to support future growth.
- Manage all people-related aspects of organisational transformation across APAC, including cost assessments, communications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Support FNZ’s expansion into emerging markets by helping establish job families, salary frameworks, and assessing office capacity needs.
- Contribute to the implementation of DEI initiatives aligned with FNZ’s global DEI strategy to drive an inclusive culture.
- Oversee full project lifecycle delivery—from initiation to implementation—ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate project operations, maintain accurate project and financial reporting, manage risks/issues, and ensure timely communication of project status.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, manage third-party vendors, support operational readiness, and conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned.
- Lead and inspire a geographically dispersed matrixed project team, fostering accountability and high performance.
- Mentor and support team members to reach their full potential while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proactively manage team dynamics and resolve conflicts to maintain positive collaboration and project momentum.
Requirements
- Financial Services experience preferable
- An understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment FNZ operate within
- Commercially aware and experience of managing third party suppliers
- Significant experience in leading the delivery of business-critical projects
- Strong stakeholder management experience, particularly at executive level
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferable but not essential
- Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style
