Job summary

We Are Charlotte is seeking an experienced People Partner in Melbourne to lead P&C delivery for a diverse client base. You will balance strategy, business partnering and project work while directly managing a People Assistant.

The role blends on-site client engagement, office collaboration and home-based work in a hybrid environment. You will influence employee relations, compliance, coaching and HR projects, leveraging data and HRIS systems to drive practical outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as an HR Generalist or related business role.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field (highly desired).
• Demonstrated experience in business partnering and coaching/mentoring.
• Experience in HR project management and delivery.
• Strong knowledge of HR compliance, legislation, and best practices.
• Ability to analyse complex HR matters and provide strategic recommendations.
• Strong data analysis skills and ability to derive insights for decision making.
• Proficiency in HR software and systems.

Role Overview

As a People Partner (think Business Partner if this was an in-house role) you will be the dedicated P&C lead, and a key project support, for a range of clients. You’ll balance strategy, business partnering and project delivery, working across a diverse range of clients and industries. You’ll directly manage a People Assistant - and together, you’ll work as a team to stay on top of all client deliverables. You’ll split your time between working on site with clients, at the WRC office and working from home. Your clients will range from business owners, operational leaders and People teams - allowing you to develop your skills in stakeholder management and commercial acumen. You’ll be a trusted advisor who strives to deliver positive outcomes and builds strong relationships with everyone you engage with. You develop solutions that make sense for your client – practical, effective and suitable – ensuring that P&C is viewed as a strategic enabler of business performance.

In the last month in the role, you might have:

• Managed your allocated clients, ensuring effective execution of P&C strategies in line with legislation and best practice advisory.
• Provided guidance and advice across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, compliance and performance coaching.
• Worked closely with a Leader or employee to resolve a People matter.
• Undertook a review of an organisation - assessing current P&C practices against best practice standards and recommending practical strategies to resolve any concerns.
• Designed and delivered P&C projects (ie: Capability framework, Talent strategy, Culture roadmap, Transformation & Change programs)
• Mentored and coached those in your team to help share your knowledge and expertise to develop others.
• Leveraged expertise in HR software and systems to lead software implementation projects.
• Utilised strong data analysis skills to derive insights from People data sets.
• Cultivated strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Contributed to internal We Are Charlotte projects and initiatives where capacity allows.
• Worked in a hybrid work environment, balancing time in our office, at client offices and working from home.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or related (e.g. Business Partner) business role.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field (highly desired).
• Demonstrated experience in business partnering.
• Experience mentoring and coaching other team members (leading also highly desired).
• Demonstrated experience in HR project management and delivery.
• Strong knowledge of HR compliance, legislation, and best practices.
• Ability to analyse complex HR matters and provide strategic recommendations.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to derive insights for informed decision making.
• Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, Engagement, Learning technology).
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effective
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging HR trends and practices.
