Job description

Join SuncoastVet as our People & Culture Generalist – Build Something That Matters
About SuncoastVet

At SuncoastVet, we do more than care for animals — we care for the people who love and look after them. We're a values-driven veterinary group with a vision to transform the veterinary care experience across the Sunshine Coast. We believe in creating a workplace that delivers not only excellent clinical outcomes but also joy, connection, growth, and purpose.

We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and passionate People & Culture Generalist who wants to build something meaningful from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity to design, implement, and lead our People & Culture function. You will shape the very culture that supports compassionate professionals who care for pets and their families every day.

This role is ideal for someone ready to create systems, foster growth, and make a tangible difference. You'll have the rare opportunity to design a function that matches our ambitions and values. If you've ever dreamed of painting on a white canvas and leaving a lasting legacy in a purpose-driven organisation, this is it.

The Role

As the People & Culture Generalist, you will be responsible for the end-to-end HR function for SuncoastVet. Your portfolio will include:

  • Workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding
  • Performance management and coaching
  • Organisational development and change leadership
  • Employee relations, investigations, and policy creation
  • Learning & development strategy and implementation
  • Partnering with Payroll and WHS teams to ensure compliance
  • Delivering monthly and quarterly HR metrics and insights to the General Manager

You’ll work closely with Clinic Coordinators across our multiple locations, coaching and supporting them to grow their people and teams. You’ll be part of every major people initiative in the business — from hiring and training to transforming the employee experience.

About You

You’re not just looking for a job — you’re looking for purpose. You want to use your HR expertise to build something meaningful. You love the energy of a fast-paced, evolving environment, and you know how to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

You bring:
  • A degree in Human Resources (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of HR generalist or business partnering experience
  • Solid knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards
  • Experience advising and coaching leaders on complex HR matters
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and influencing skills
  • An ability to travel to our network of clinics across the Sunshine Coast
  • Proven capacity to work autonomously while building trust with geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience in healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site operations
  • Skills in developing HR systems and processes from scratch
  • A love for animals and the people who care for them
Why Join SuncoastVet?
  • Be part of a business that cares deeply for its team and community
  • Create and lead your own people strategy
  • Work in a values-driven culture that celebrates innovation and empathy
  • Enjoy a genuine work‑life balance in the stunning Sunshine Coast
  • Play a key role in building a legacy of care, respect, and excellence

We are proud to be an inclusive, equal opportunity employer — people of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
