Job summary

South East Water is seeking a part-time People Business Partner to provide operational and strategic HR advice across stakeholder groups. The role is five days with 9:00am–3:00pm hours, approximately 30 hours weekly, and sits in the People Partnerships team.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in HR or related field with at least three years’ HR Generalist experience in fast-paced settings, including IR/ER in union environments and change-management support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as HR Generalist in fast-paced operations.
• Experience providing HR/IR/ER guidance in unionised environments.
• Experience handling disciplinary processes, investigations and grievances.
• Experience supporting restructures and organisational change.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, awards and industrial agreements.
• Proactive, with strong stakeholder relationship skills and data-driven problem solving.
• Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands.

Responsibilities

The role

The People Business Partner provides operational and strategic human resources advice and support to South East Water. As a key member of the People Partnerships team, the People Business Partner will be aligned to stakeholder groups to ensure seamless design, delivery and execution of a full range of HR initiatives.

This is a part-time opportunity, working five days per week from 9:00am to 3:00pm (with some flexibility available). The role equates to approximately 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Effective operational business partnering.
• Provision of advice and guidance on employee and industrial relations, including support to people leaders in relation to performance management and conduct.
• Partnering with relevant business areas to ensure the effective development and implementation of a range of HR strategies, projects, policies and procedures.
• Fostering key business relationships, building credibility and trust across the business.Identifying gaps and contributing to the ongoing HR strategy.
• Interpretation of the SEW Employees Enterprise Agreement and relevant industrial legislation.
• Supporting and delivering on organisational realignment, design and change management initiatives.

Who are you?

Ideally armed with a degree in Human Resources or similar, as well as a minimum of three years’ demonstrated experience in a fast paced operational role as a HR Generalist, the successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and knowledge, which will allow them to thrive in the role:

• Demonstrated experience in providing Human Resources/IR/ER advice in a unionised environment within a medium to large sized organisation.
• Experience managing industrial related employee cases including disciplinary processes, investigations and grievance resolution.
• Experience in supporting restructures.
• Significant knowledge and direct application of employment legislation,including theability to interpret legislation,Awards andIndustrial Agreements together withpolicies andprocedures.
• A high level of initiative with an ability to proactively anticipate stakeholder needs and identify opportunities.
• Ability to develop highly effective working relationships by building capability, respect and rapport.
• Innovative approach with proven ability to identify opportunities, analyse data and use this information to design solutions.
• Ability to manage competing, high-priority demands, managing operational workload with delivery of initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) with impact.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and systems relating tohuman resource management e.g. SuccessFactors, performance management, payroll/HRIS.

This role is remunerated at a Level 5,which is between $119,221 and $125,993 + super (FTE) and offers are commensurate with the successful candidates' experience.
