Auto & General Australia is seeking a People Advisor to manage end-to-end employee relations cases and support leaders across the P&C operating service level. You will advise on ER issues, ensuring alignment with policy and risk tolerance, while contributing to the broader People & Culture program.

You will collaborate with Senior Partners, educate the business on the operating model, and support strategic P&C initiatives. This role offers hybrid work between North Lakes and Kawana.

The Role Working as part of the Frontline People Business Partner team, the core component of the People Advisor role is end-to-end employee relations case management, supporting leaders and employees across their relevant P&C operating service level. Operating in this active frontline space, the People Advisor will advise on employee relation issues, using their technical and professional skills and knowledge to deliver a professional and efficient case management service, ensuring that performance, conduct and absence matters are managed in line with A&G policy and processes and within the A&G risk tolerance.

Brief Description

Additionally, the People Advisor will contribute to delivery of the broader People & Culture strategic program of work by supporting cyclical P&C activities, retrieval and collation of data and insights for use by the Senior People BP/business stakeholders, as well as other P&C processes, underpinning the effective people strategy decisions that are made by the business.

Position Accountabilities

The People Advisor will be supporting the Senior Business Partner in the delivery of the Departmental and P&C PoW. This includes both strategic and cyclical programs including, but not limited to:

• Deliver effective end to end employee relations (ER) case management and resolve ER issues at the appropriate P&C operating service level.
• Work collaboratively with the Senior/ Business Partner ensuring that the group is informed, as appropriate, on case management updates;
• Coach leaders on ER processes, including during live cases, in order to provide in the moment capability uplift.
• Prepare, participate and/or representation of Fair Work (or other jurisdictional) cases, as appropriate.Propose root cause or identify systemic issues that could be resulting in trends for further investigation.
• Collaborate with the IR team/ and maintain an up to date understanding of legislative and case law developments to enable sound and current advice provided to business leaders.
• In conjunction with the Senior/ Business Partner collaborate with business leaders and teams to understand their challenges and objectives and provide practical People solutions, driving meaningful improvements across the business.
• Educating and supporting the business to adhere to the P&C Operating model, ensuring HR queries are directed to and managed by the appropriate P&C team.
• Work closely with the P&C Centers of Excellence teams to deliver the Divisional people plans and P&C strategic initiatives.
• Be a subject matter expert on A&G P&C policies and procedures, the Enterprise Agreement, and associated frameworks e.g. Remuneration bandings and division specific incentive schemes, enabling strong and accurate advice provided to clients.
• Work closely with the P&C Centers of Excellence teams to deliver the Divisional people plans and P&C strategic initiatives.

What Experience You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of HR generalist or ER/IR specific experience, or equivalent experience - preferably in a fast-moving environment.
• Confident and influential communicator with an ability to engage effectively with all leadership levels.
• Ability to balance conflicting priorities within a changing environment.
• Analytical acumen, capable of synthesising complex data into actionable insights.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Discretion and confidentiality is mandatory.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Workspace and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
