Description du poste

You know the road to recovery isn’t always easy. Now, imagine using what you’ve learned to help someone else find their way.
At CQ Health, we’re looking for someone who can turn lived experience into real connection and show consumers that recovery looks different for everyone — and that’s OK. You’ll champion the consumer voice, help people discover their strengths and turn “I can’t” into “maybe I can”.
This isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to turn your experience into someone else’s turning point.
If you’ve walked the walk and want to help others move forward, we want to hear your story.

About us:

Join Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service!

We provide specialist mental health and alcohol and other drugs care to more than 250,000 people across Rockhampton, the Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana regions.

Our teams work together with hospitals, healthcare providers and community partners to support recovery, improve wellbeing and help people live fulfilling lives.

Be part of a passionate team making a real difference across rural and regional Queensland!

About the role:
  • Share your story, inspire hope. Use your lived experience of mental illness to model recovery, share practical strategies and show consumers that positive change is possible.
  • Empower others on their recovery journey. Support consumers to set meaningful goals, build confidence and make positive changes using peer support and recovery tools.
  • Connect, collaborate and grow. Work with consumers, carers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver engaging education sessions, peer support groups and recovery-focused programs.
  • Make a meaningful impact. Help improve services through consumer feedback, contribute to a safe and supportive workplace, and continue developing your own skills and knowledge.
About you:
  • You’re comfortable sharing your lived experience of mental health recovery to encourage and support others on their journey.
  • Understand recovery-focused, strengths-based approaches and believe in empowering consumers to achieve their goals.
  • Bring great communication skills, enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team and are keen to support peer groups and mental health education.
  • Value the consumer voice, love finding ways to improve services and are confident using Microsoft Office. A Certificate III in Mental Health Peer Work (or working towards one) is highly desirable.
What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $31,255 p.a. is comprised of:
