Job summary

OT G.Y.M.S – Growing Young Minds & Skills in Chatswood, NSW, is seeking a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years' experience to cover maternity leave with potential for ongoing employment.

You will manage an established caseload across clinic, school, preschool, telehealth and community sessions, with handover support and opportunities to develop your own caseload within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
• Working With Children Check or equivalent clearance.
• Strong Paediatric OT foundation: assessment, planning and evidence-based practice.
• Experience in clinical, school or community settings with a child-centered approach.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and report-writing skills.

OT G.Y.M.S – Growing Young Minds & Skills is a pediatric occupational therapy clinic based in Chatswood, NSW, dedicated to empowering children and families through tailored therapy services. Its approach focuses on building strong skills, fostering independence, and promoting confidence through personalised, child-centered support. OT G.Y.M.S works collaboratively with families, schools, and communities to create meaningful and lasting impact on each child's development.

The company is small yet we are a highly experienced OT specific team, that works directly within a larger multi-disciplinary context. The Chatswood clinic is a shared location with the wonderful North Shore Speech Therapy (NSST) team, allowing for strong cross disciplinary collaboration.

Role Description:

We are seeking a passionate Paediatric Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years’ experience. The role will initially provide maternity leave cover with a genuine intention for the successful clinician to continue with OT G.Y.M.S on an ongoing basis beyond this period. This is not simply a short-term replacement role. We are looking for someone who is interested in becoming a valued, longer-term member of the practice and developing their own professional identity and caseload within OT G.Y.M.S.

The successful clinician will step into an established caseload of children and families, with substantial handover and support provided to ensure a smooth transition. The role includes a combination of clinic, school, preschool, telehealth and community-based sessions - and can be adjusted depending on your interests, experience and availability.

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will assess children’s functional abilities, develop individualised therapy plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions in the clinic and community settings. Day-to-day tasks include conducting assessments, running individual and small group therapy sessions, and providing services in clinic, homes, schools, and preschools. The role involves collaborating closely with families, educators, and other professionals, documenting progress, preparing reports, and contributing to goal setting and review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
• Registration and full clearance with relevant professional bodies (e.g. Working With Children Check etc)
• Strong foundation in Paediatric Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and evidence-based practice.
• Skills in Early Intervention to support children’s developmental needs and functional independence.
• Experience working with children in clinical, school, or community settings, with a child-centered and family-focused approach.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and report-writing skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage a varied caseload across clinic and community environments.
