The Payroll Agency is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead a complex, high-volume payroll function in Sydney CBD. This hybrid role requires hands-on leadership, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll runs.

You will coach and develop the payroll team, manage day-to-day operations, and partner with stakeholders to resolve issues quickly. The position offers a supportive environment with growth and a strong focus on people development.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on payroll experience in a complex, high-volume environment.

• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and awards.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end processing of complex, high-volume payrolls with accuracy and timeliness.

Payroll Supervisor | Sydney CBD (Hybrid – 3 days in office) | Full-time, Permanent

About the role

The Payroll Agency has partnered with a well-established organisation, is seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead a complex, high-volume payroll function. This is a true leadership role for someone who wants to run the day to day, set the standard for accuracy and compliance, and invest in developing the people around them.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end processing of complex, high-volume payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timeliness
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the payroll team, including workload allocation, reviews and deadline management
• Coach, train and develop team members, building technical capability and confidence across the team
• Act as the escalation point for complex payroll queries, award interpretation and compliance matters
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen the efficiency and quality of the function
• Partner with key stakeholders to ensure payroll runs smoothly and issues are resolved promptly

About you

• Strong hands-on payroll experience in a complex, high-volume environment
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or mentoring a payroll team
• Sound knowledge of Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and Australian payroll legislation
• A genuine passion for training and developing others
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure
• Confident decision-maker with strong communication and stakeholder skills
