The Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will ensure our employees are paid accurately, on time, and in line with all relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and company policies. You will be a trusted source of payroll expertise, supporting both employees and managers with clear guidance and timely resolution of payroll matters.
Your primary objective will be to deliver a seamless payroll experience by:
- Maintaining accurate payroll data and records.
- Processing end-to-end payroll cycles with precision and confidentiality.
- Interpreting and applying complex payroll legislation and agreements correctly.
- Proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies before they impact employees.
- Building strong working relationships across HR, Finance, and operational teams to ensure payroll processes run smoothly.
Through your expertise and attention to detail, you will directly contribute to employee satisfaction and the organisation’s compliance, ensuring payroll is a valued and trusted service.
Your Day Looks Like
- Deliver accurate, timely payroll services to all employees, ensuring queries are resolved promptly and professionally.
- Provide consistent support across all trading days to align with operational team needs.
- Process and reconcile end-to-end payroll, ensuring legislative and policy compliance.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, reporting, and reconciliations to meet financial deadlines.
- Identify process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Share payroll expertise to build confidence and capability across the team and broader business.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and champion best practice.
What You’ll Need to Thrive
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a medium-to-large organisation.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and modern awards/enterprise agreements.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to non-technical audiences.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, and operational teams.
- A commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous improvement.
