Job summary

Lake Macquarie City Council seeks an experienced Team Leader Remuneration and Benefits to lead the payroll and remuneration function for a large workforce. You will provide specialist payroll expertise, manage a dedicated team and drive improvements across systems and processes.

You will ensure compliance with payroll legislation, taxation and reporting, while guiding strategic workforce initiatives and council projects. Strong leadership and collaboration across the organisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Payroll/Finance or related field.
• Experience leading payroll operations in a large, high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation and statutory reporting.
• Experience interpreting and applying awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Council's payroll and remuneration function.
• Oversee end-to-end payroll services for 1300+ employees.
• Provide specialist payroll and remuneration expertise to the organisation.
• Drive continuous improvement across payroll systems, processes and service delivery.
