Job summary

Salt Digital Recruitment is helping an established Australian software company shape its payroll platform as it evolves with changing legislation and client needs.

As the Product Owner, you will drive enhancements across payroll, accounting and back-office capabilities, translating regulatory requirements into tangible product outcomes while collaborating with delivery, support and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or Payroll Systems Specialist.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance.
• Hands-on experience with STP, SuperStream, Payday Super and payroll reporting requirements.
• Background in payroll, HR tech, fintech or bookkeeping is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret changes to Australian payroll legislation and ATO compliance.
• Drive compliance initiatives across STP, SuperStream, Payday Super and related reporting obligations.
• Translate legislative and business requirements into clear user stories and product enhancements.
• Own and prioritise the payroll compliance product backlog.
• Perform testing and quality assurance for new product releases.
• Develop knowledge articles, documentation and training materials to keep internal teams informed and empowered.
