Overview

St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1500 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Payroll Officer for this full-time ongoing role. The role could potentially be considered on a part-time basis, subject to negotiation with the successful applicant.

The Payroll Officer’s role is to process the fortnightly payroll and all payroll related matters, to maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll system data, and to assist staff and management with all payroll related queries. The successful applicant will have experience in end-to-end payroll processing for 300+ staff, and the ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a busy environment.

Responsibilities
  • Process of fortnightly payroll
  • Reconcile salary packaging accounts and liaise with the external providers
  • In liaison with finance staff, balance all payroll ledger accounts, including the posting of all payroll related journals
  • Ensure the ATO and Superannuation payments are paid within the required time frames
  • Calculation and auditing of staff leave entitlements, including long service leave, as required
  • Process workers compensation claims, reconciling reimbursements and correspondence
  • Previous experience in the education sector would be highly regarded
