Job summary

Greencross Vets in North Ryde, Sydney, is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to deliver accurate payroll for 7,000+ employees across weekly and fortnightly cycles, reporting to the Payroll Manager within the People Tech team.

You will maintain records, handle superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG, workers compensation, and awards, and collaborate with store, clinic, and leadership teams to drive service excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience processing high-volume payroll in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of SAP EC Payroll and UKG time-and-attendance systems.
• Experience in a multi-site environment.
• Experience interpreting and applying awards.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the accurate and timely administration of payroll across the group.
• Process weekly and fortnightly payroll end to end, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time.
• Maintain accurate payroll, personnel, and time-and-attendance records, including new starter set-up, employee changes, and data transfers.
• Assist with payroll activities including superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG, workers compensation, and award compliance.
• Prepare accurate reporting to support business decision-making.
• Develop, document, and improve payroll procedures in line with current legislation and business requirements.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with store, clinic, support office, and senior leadership teams.
• Respond to payroll enquiries in a timely, helpful, and professional manner.
• Work collaboratively with the payroll team and wider business to improve payroll processes and service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and support a culture of continuous improvement.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a friendly and engaging approach.
