Job summary

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a Payroll Officer (ASO2) in Adelaide CBD to join a large government payroll team. This full-time role focuses on payroll data entry, employee records, processing transactions, and responding to payroll inquiries.

You will maintain payroll records, process new starters and changes, review timesheets, and ensure data integrity in a high-volume environment. Immediate start with a 2 October 2026 end date is offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience (desirable).
  • Experience using Chris21 or a similar payroll system (desirable).
  • Strong customer service experience, ideally within a call centre or high-volume environment.
  • Accurate data entry skills (minimum 40 words per minute).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Officer (ASO2) to join a large government shared services payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for an administration or payroll professional looking to develop their skills within a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Location: Adelaide CBD

Hours: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $37.50 per hour

ASAP start until 2 October 2026

About the Role

Working within a dedicated payroll team, you will play an important role in supporting payroll operations for a large workforce. The team is responsible for payroll data entry, employee record maintenance, payroll processing, and responding to payroll enquiries.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing payroll transactions and pay-related activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
