Job summary

Adbri in Adelaide is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our payroll team, delivering accurate and timely payroll across multiple entities with weekly and fortnightly cycles. You will own assigned payroll runs, manage employee changes and reconciliations, and work closely with the wider team to meet critical deadlines.

The role requires 3+ years in end-to-end payroll, experience with Awards/Enterprise Agreements, solid time and attendance knowledge, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in an end-to-end Payroll Officer role.
  • Experience processing payroll under Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements.
  • Sound understanding of timesheets, time and attendance and payroll processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.
  • Intermediate Excel skills and experience with payroll systems such as Chris21.

Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles from preparation through to pay day.
  • Managing employee changes including new starters, bank accounts and superannuation details.
  • Reviewing and processing timesheets, time and attendance information and payroll adjustments.
  • Responding to payroll queries and providing timely support to employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Completing payroll and superannuation reconciliations as required.
  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll information and records.
  • Working closely with the wider Payroll team to meet critical payroll deadlines.
  • Adapting to changing priorities and supporting different payroll cycles as required.

The role:

Join our Adelaide-based Payroll team as a Payroll Officer and play an important role in delivering accurate and timely payroll across a diverse, multi-entity organisation!

You’ll take ownership of your allocated payroll cycles while building your experience across a diverse and complex payroll environment including multiple entities, weekly and fortnightly pay cycles and a range of Awards and Enterprise Agreements - this is a role that offers genuine variety!

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll cycles from preparation through to pay day
  • Managing employee changes including new starters, bank account and superannuation details
  • Reviewing and processing timesheets, time and attendance information and payroll adjustments
  • Responding to payroll queries and providing timely support to employees and internal stakeholders

About you:

You’ll be agile, organised and collaborative, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. You’ll take pride in getting things right, communicate confidently and be willing to ask questions and learn.

You’ll bring:
  • 3+ years’ experience in an end-to-end Payroll Officer role
  • Experience processing payroll under Awards and/or Enterprise Agreements
  • A sound understanding of timesheets, time and attendance and payroll processes
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Chris21 would be highly regarded
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • The ability to manage changing priorities and meet tight payroll deadlines
