Job summary

South32 is seeking a Specialist Payroll Governance professional for a 12-month fixed term contract at our Perth head office. The role supports governance, controls and data-led insights across payroll processes in a hybrid work model.

You will apply analytics, automation and AI-enabled tools to strengthen payroll controls, identify risks and drive continuous improvement, reporting to the Lead Payroll Governance.

Qualifications

• Experience with payroll governance, risk and assurance frameworks.
• Strong payroll analytics, reconciliation and data modelling skills.
• Proficiency with workflow automation and AI-enabled tools.
• Clear stakeholder communication and project support capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor global payroll requirements, controls and statutory obligations.
• Identify exceptions, control gaps, emerging risks and improvements.
• Support payroll remediation, control tests and compliance reviews.
• Translate insights and legislative impacts into actionable recommendations.
