Job summary

Vistra is hiring an Associate - Payroll in Sydney to join the payroll services team. You will deliver accurate payroll for international clients, set up new staff, run payroll cycles, and ensure compliance with payroll legislation.

This full-time role reports to the Head of Payroll Services and supports a growing payroll operations function. The ideal candidate has 6–12 months of payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • 6–12 months payroll experience (preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients using Employment Hero.
  • Set up new employees in the payroll system and ensure accurate onboarding data.
  • Prepare and process regular payroll runs, including adjustments and back payments.
  • Calculate and process employee terminations in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and lodge Payroll Tax, Superannuation contributions, and Workers' Compensation enrolments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant awards, enterprise agreements, and employment legislation.
  • Maintain and update payroll system data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to queries.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and audits as required.
  • Perform other payroll-related duties to support the team.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Sydney, reporting to the Head of Payroll Services. With regional coverage, this role plays a key part in supporting the growth and success of our payroll services team.

As part of our payroll services team, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient payroll services for our international clients.
