Job summary

Stellar Recruitment in Bowen/Whitsundays region is seeking an experienced payroll professional to own the end-to-end payroll function. You will ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery while collaborating with finance, HR and operations across the business.

You will coordinate and improve payroll processes, manage reporting, and provide insights to support broader finance objectives. This role offers relocation assistance and a hybrid work arrangement in North Queensland.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and enterprise agreements.
• Experience with end-to-end payroll processing and compliance.
• Ability to analyse payroll data and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Experience with SAP and SuccessFactors is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end payroll processing for the organisation.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements, contracts and legislation.
• Maintain payroll records and oversee transactions per policies and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate mandatory payroll reporting including STP and ABS surveys.
• Provide payroll insights and reporting to support finance and HR stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and controls.
• Lead payroll improvement projects in collaboration with stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional looking to take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function while contributing to meaningful process and systems improvements.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll delivery, while working closely with finance, HR and operational stakeholders across the business.

About the Role

You will be responsible for coordinating and managing payroll activities, ensuring compliance with enterprise agreements, employment contracts and relevant legislation. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
• Maintain payroll records and oversee transactions in accordance with enterprise agreements, policies and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate mandatory payroll reporting, including Single Touch Payroll (STP), WGEA reporting and ABS surveys.
• Provide payroll information, analysis and reporting to support the broader finance function.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls and enhance payroll systems.
• Lead and contribute to payroll improvement projects in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships across the business, providing advice and support on payroll-related matters.
