Job summary

St Vincent’s Health Australia’s Mater Hospital in North Sydney is seeking a Patient Services Officer on a casual basis to join the Patient Services team. The role covers a broad range of administrative duties across bookings, reception, switchboard and admissions, with a focus on patient information accuracy and high standards of service.

You will contribute to data integrity, support the Supervisor/Manager, and deliver patient-centred care over the phone and in person, with a flexible 7-day

Qualifications

  • Experience in data entry and attention to detail is desirable.
  • Ability to work a flexible 7-day roster with no set days or shift hours.
  • Knowledge of hospital admission and discharge processes is advantageous.
  • Experience in health administration and medical terminology is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy in patient information systems.

About The Role

  • Provide a comprehensive range of administrative duties throughout the hospital including bookings, file preparation, switchboard, admissions and reception.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy of information entered into our patient information and management systems.
  • Deliver patient centred care with a high level of customer service, both in person and over the phone.
  • Assist with any other administrative duties as directed by your Supervisor/Manager.

About You

  • Experience in data entry and excellent attention to detail is desirable.
  • Ability to work within a flexible roster across 7 days of week with no set days or shift hours.
  • Sound knowledge of Admission and Discharge processes within a hospital environment.
  • Experience in health administration and completion of a medical terminology course are desirable.
