Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the distribution and service of patient meals. The role is part-time on a seven-day roster, with shifts from 7:30 am to 1:15 pm, across four to five days per week, with days negotiable.

You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the satellite kitchen, assist with stock, labels and rotation, follow HACCP procedures, and work closely with the Food Services team to deliver reliable, patient-centred service in a busy

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food services, hospitality or healthcare is desirable.
• Food Safety or HACCP training (desirable).
• Excellent attention to detail and food handling practices.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A positive, reliable work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical capability to undertake manual handling and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the distribution and service of patient meals and beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and organisation within the satellite kitchen.
• Assist with stock replenishment, storage, labelling and rotation.
• Follow established food safety, infection prevention and HACCP procedures.
• Ensure equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Work collaboratively with the Food Services team to provide efficient, and reliable patient-focused service.
