Job summary

Monash Health is seeking a Food Services Assistant on a part-time, ongoing pool basis to support Boollam Boollam Aged Care. You will work under the Food Services Manager within the Support Services team, delivering meals, preparing and regenerating meals, maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards, and ensuring patient dietary needs are met with care and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in food services within a hospital, aged care, or hospitality setting with strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene.
• Passion for patient care and nutrition, ensuring patients are treated with respect and empathy.
• Reliable and punctual team member with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to follow manual handling, safety protocols and procedural instructions.
• Understanding of diet codes, texture modified foods and fluids, and allergies/intolerances.
• Have HLTFSE001 or SITXFSA001 hygiene qualifications as a preference.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting meal trays and Burlodge trolleys to and from service areas.
• Regenerating and preparing meals in line with production and clinical needs, including special functions.
• Cleaning and sanitising food trays, food preparation areas, and kitchen equipment.
• Operating dishwashers and other food service equipment safely and efficiently.
• Restocking pantries and trolleys; while maintaining food stock levels as required.
• Completing all food safety and cleaning documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
