Job summary

Queensland Health's Pathology Queensland Toowoomba Laboratory is seeking a Scientist to join the team in Toowoomba. The role covers Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Molecular and Microbiology, delivering high-quality, cost-effective pathology services to clients.

You will perform routine and complex testing following accredited protocols, apply scientific judgement, ensure results meet NATA accreditation standards, and contribute to a supportive, multi-skilled laboratory

Qualifications

Routine and complex testing of samples following accredited protocols within a modern laboratory.
Ability to apply scientific judgement to solve problems under supervision as skills develop.
Commitment to delivering high-quality results in a NATA-accredited laboratory.

Responsibilities

Routine and complex testing of samples and related duties, following well established accredited protocols and standards within all areas of the Toowoomba Laboratory.
With demonstrated experience, or as experience builds, apply increasingly independent scientific judgement to more complex problems and decision making, under the scientific supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
Deliver quality results to clients ensuring all aspects of a NATA accredited laboratory are adhered to.
Actively participate in the team in a professional manner, treating clients and co-workers with respect and courtesy.
