Grill Americano in Melbourne's CBD is seeking a Pastry Commis Chef to refine their craft in a prestigious kitchen. You will prepare high-quality desserts and manage your pastry station with precision, while upholding food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated at least 1 year experience as a Pastry Chef in an al a carte restaurant.
• Italian cuisine experience is highly regarded.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead a team.
• Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S standards and compliance.
• Experience with set ups, changeovers, closedown and handover to standard.
• Following procedures and recipes with precision.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to refine your craft in a prestigious kitchen, working alongside some of the industry's best. As a Pastry Commis Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and executing high-quality desserts, you will manage your station efficiently, ensure consistency and uphold food safety protocols.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have

• Demonstrated at least 1 year experience as a Pastry Chef in an al a carte restaurant
• Italian cuisine experience is highly regarded
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and lead a team
• Demonstrate positive attitude and genuine interest in the day to day operations
• Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S standards and compliance
• Experience in effectively maintaining and managing set ups, changeovers, closedown and handover to standard
• Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items
• Excellent attention to detail
• Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
• Calm and composed demeanor
• Available to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
• Qualification in Patisserie, Commercial Cookery or equivalent
