Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred).
• Current Food Handler Certificate.
• Proven experience in high-volume cooking (hotels, healthcare or similar).
• Excellent knowledge of all facets of Food Services.
• Ability to produce pastries with kitchenhand support.
• Understanding of food safety hygiene standards.
• High level of customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication.
• Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights/responsibilities.
• Current Flu and COVID-19 vaccination.
• National Police Certificate required.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check may be a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pastry menus and culinary creations for residents.
• Work with an experienced team to provide fine dining in aged care.
• Ensure smooth kitchen operations and pastry production.
• Follow care plans and care standards in food service.
• Maintain safety, hygiene and food handling practices.

Things that work for us

• Trade qualification in Commercial cooking (preferred), current Food Handler Certificate
• Proven experience working in high volume cooking such as hotels, healthcare and/or similar environments
• Excellent knowledge related to all facets of Food Services
• Ability to work in the production of Pastries with the assistance of the kitchenhands and accept responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen
• Understanding of and compliance with food safety hygiene standards
• High level of customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Ability to follow directives as per care plan
• Understanding of Aged Care and resident rights and responsibilities
• Current Flu and COVID-19 vaccination
• National Police Certificate
