Job summary

St Vincent's Private Hospital Brisbane – Gympie QLD is seeking a compassionate Pastoral & Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our aged care service in Maroochydore and/or Gympie. You will provide professional care to residents, families and staff, supporting holistic wellbeing within an interdisciplinary team.

Essentially, you will assess spiritual needs, develop care plans, and offer religious resources with respectful, person-centred approach.

We are looking for a compassionate Pastoral & Spiritual Care Practitioner to join our Maroochydore and/or Gympie Aged care service.

You will provide professional pastoral and spiritual care to residents, families, support networks and staff, supporting the holistic approach to care that is central to St Vincent's. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team alongside other healthcare professionals, you will focus on nurturing the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of residents and those important to them.

Opportunities may be available at our Maroochydore and/or Gympie Aged care services. Each location provides a welcoming and supportive environment where residents and staff can thrive.

• Assess and prioritise pastoral and spiritual needs, developing appropriate care plans and support strategies


• Assist with the provision of appropriate and person-centred religious and spiritual resources


• Support the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of residents through compassionate, person-centred care

• Ability to work autonomously


• Respect and sensitivity in ministry to persons of various religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, Life Philosophies and Faith Traditions


• Attainment of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) qualification, or equivalent training in counselling, theology, psychology or equivalent or a combination of study and work experience (essential)


• Willing to apply for a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (essential)


• Willing to apply for a NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
