Job summary

Uniting Wesley Gardens in Belrose is seeking a Part-Time Pastoral Practitioner to provide person-centred spiritual and emotional support to residents, their families and staff. Working as part of the Mission team, you'll bring compassion, respect and an inclusive approach to care.

You'll build relationships, honour each person's life story, culture and beliefs, and offer Christian care where appropriate while respecting other faiths. This role is on-site and focuses on compassionate presence.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy with older adults.
• Relevant theological or ministry studies; CPE desirable.
• Ability to provide compassionate, confidential support.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one pastoral, spiritual and emotional support to residents and families.
• Support residents through grief, ageing and end-of-life transitions.
• Build meaningful relationships respecting life stories, culture and beliefs.
• Offer Christian spiritual care while respecting other faiths.
• Collaborate with care team to support holistic wellbeing.
• Facilitate pastoral gatherings, memorials and prayers when appropriate.
• Maintain pastoral care records and documentation.
• Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development.
