Job summary

Uniting Wesley Gardens in Belrose seeks a Pastoral Practitioner to provide person-centred pastoral and spiritual care to residents, families and staff. Working with the Mission team, you'll offer compassion, respect and an inclusive approach across faiths, cultures and beliefs, building relationships and supporting wellbeing.

This role focuses on presence, listening and meaningful conversations about faith, ageing and end-of-life, with supervision and professional development supported.

Qualifications

• Experience in pastoral care, chaplaincy or spiritual care.
• Pastoral, theological or spiritual care study with CPE formation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one pastoral, spiritual and emotional support to residents and their families.
• Support residents and families through grief, loss, illness, ageing and end-of-life.
• Develop meaningful relationships recognizing each person’s life story and values.
• Offer spiritual care within the Christian tradition while respecting other faiths.
• Collaborate with the care team to support holistic wellbeing.
• Facilitate pastoral gatherings, memorials, prayer and reflection as appropriate.
• Maintain pastoral care records and documentation.
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice and ongoing professional development.
