Job summary

Royal Automobile Club of WA Inc. invites a seasoned Partner – Business Risk & Compliance to lead RAC Insurance's risk and compliance program.

You will drive the Risk & Compliance Frameworks, oversee incident management and regulatory reporting, and partner with senior leaders to ensure risks are identified and addressed within appetite. You will guide and coach leaders, foster a strong risk culture, and coordinate strategic risk reviews across the business.

We are a purpose-led member organisation striving to create greater value for our members and deliver on our purpose to be “**The driving force for a better WA**.”We're looking for an experienced **Partner – Business Risk & Compliance** to join our Insurance division and play a pivotal role in supporting and embedding effective risk management and compliance practices across the business.This position leads people leaders and direct reports who partner closely with stakeholders to ensure risks are identified, monitored, and managed within appetite, while supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.**What you'll be doing*** Lead and develop a high-performing Business Risk & Compliance team.* Drive the ongoing implementation and embedment of RAC Insurance's Risk & Compliance Management Frameworks.* Partner with business leaders, risk owners to effectively manage risks, controls and compliance obligations.* Lead the oversight of incident management processes, including investigation, remediation, breach reporting and regulatory obligations.* Manage and enhance the controls assurance framework, including control design and effectiveness testing.* Coordinate executive and committee risk reporting, strategic risk reviews and compliance activities.* Support the implementation of the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and provide guidance to senior leaders.* Foster a positive risk culture through coaching, guidance and stakeholder engagement across the business.* Coordinating regular strategic and operational risk reviews, including collating risk profile details for business unit leaders.**What you'll bring*** Significant experience leading Line 1 Risk and/or Compliance functions within financial services, insurance, consulting, or another highly regulated environment.* Proven people leadership capability, with experience leading and developing leaders and high-performing teams through clear accountability, coaching and performance management.* Strong experience applying risk management frameworks, standards and principles.* Sound knowledge of risk and compliance management practices and regulatory obligations.* Working knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, ASIC regulatory requirements, the Insurance Contracts Act and Corporations Act.* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.* Proven ability to influence, coach and build effective stakeholder relationships.* Strong report writing and communication skills, with experience preparing papers for senior executives, committees and boards.* A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and practical risk management solutions.* Tertiary qualifications in insurance, risk management or a related discipline (desirable**What can we offer you?*** A senior leadership role with genuine accountability and influence across RAC Insurance, including leadership of an established Business Risk & Compliance team, which includes people leaders and specialist professionals.* Direct engagement with executives and key governance committees on material risk and compliance matters.* The mandate to improve systems and practices - not simply maintain existing processes.* Flexible working arrangements, professional development support and employee benefits.**Why Join Us?** At RAC, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation that values its employees' contributions.
