Job summary

Freeman Catholic College Bonnyrigg Heights is seeking a Teacher Librarian for a part-time (0.4 FTE), temporary position. You will oversee the College Library, promote reading, and support curriculum delivery within a Catholic learning environment.

The role requires strong pedagogical practices, collaboration with staff, and a commitment to student wellbeing in a vibrant secondary setting.

Qualifications

Recognised NESA academic qualifications to teach as a Teacher Librarian.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices.
Ability to create engaging, rigorous learning experiences for diverse learners.
Excellent classroom management focused on student wellbeing.
Strong collaboration with staff and parents in a Catholic school context.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day library operations and development.
Manage library staff, budgets, resources and systems.
Maintain welcoming, engaging spaces for study and research.
Oversee selection, purchasing, cataloguing and organisation of resources.
Collaborate with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery and student learning.
Promote reading, literacy and responsible information use.
Coordinate library programs and events.
Support Catholic ethos and school values through library resources.
