Job summary

Western Sydney University invites applications for a part-time ongoing Academic Level C or D appointment at Macarthur Clinical School. You will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, research and academic leadership, delivering learning experiences informed by current surgical practice.

The role includes curriculum development, assessment, and supervising higher degree research students.

Qualifications

• Current registration or eligibility to registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia through AHPRA.
• Eligibility to hold a clinical appointment in Surgery at Campbelltown Hospital.
• Specialist surgical training with FRACS and consultant-level experience in a relevant clinical field.
• A PhD in a relevant discipline, or the qualifications and experience specified for the applicable academic level.
• Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum design and contemporary educational delivery.
• A strong research record appropriate to Academic Level C or D, including experience in research collaboration and postgraduate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, assessment and student support.
• Design contemporary learning activities and resources that strengthen student outcomes.
• Produce high-quality research and contribute to the advancement of surgical knowledge.
• Supervise higher degree research students and support the development of colleagues.
• Build productive relationships across clinical, academic, industry and community networks.
